Price Comparison
Thoughtful Design!!!
Xiaomi Mi3 is a thoughtfully designed mobile. Why we say so? Because the moment you hold it you will wonder whoa!! That is some device. Its body is basically polycarbonate reinforced with some aluminum alloy which gives it a sort of sturdy feel. One can easily mistake it for a metal body. One drawback though is that phone tends to be a bit slippery and so we do advise you to use a cover. The phone comes with a FHD display with a pixel density of 441 ppi. The 5 inch display is a retina display protected by a corning gorilla glass 3. Overall the phone has good build quality and screen is as good as it gets at this amazing price.
Snapdragon 800 inside!!
Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a Qualcomm snapdragon 800 8274AB quad core processor clocked in at 2.3 GHz and has 4 CPU cores. It has Adreno 330 GPU to take care of graphics processing. It also comes with impressive 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. As you have guessed by now the phone is a performance beast and blows away all other phones in this price range while also matching most of the previous generation flagship devices. Be it multitasking, browsing, gaming or any other thing the phone excels everywhere except it gets a little hot while gaming but that is manageable and we didn’t face much problem while long gaming sessions. It has 16 GB of inbuilt flash memory which is not expandable that might turn out to be a problem for some but again USB OTG might help.
Camera
Xiaomi Mi3 dare we say, has the best camera you can get at this price. Its 13 MP primary camera has f/2.2 aperture with 5 lenses for better colour accuracy. It also has wide shooting angle of 28 mm. The pictures taken by Mi3 were very good and we were impressed by the colour reproduction and level of detail. It has a 2 MP front camera. Both the camera’s support full HD recording though surprisingly optical Image stabilization is not supported.
Software
Xiaomi Mi3 comes with Xiaomi’s own MIUI (my you i) built over android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. As the name suggest it’s your UI and provides with huge customization options. It is one of the most loved and used UI. Since the phone was initially launched to provide cheap but quality apple alternative the UI has quite a few inspirations from iOS like no app drawer, all the installed apps are arranged on the screen only, bit messy isn’t it but thanks to folder option the problem is somewhat solved. The only downside is that you will have to spend good amount of time working around the UI to fully realize its potential but I can guarantee once you are done you will fall in love with it.
Why would you love it?
If you can rise above your predetermined perception that Chinese phones are shit there is absolutely no reason not to love this phone. It provides huge! Huge! value for money in the current market. It has premium design, fantastic UI, awesome camera, unmatched performance in this range. Also the battery life is great too and will easily last a day or two. As I read somewhere “There is difference between “Made in China” and “Made by China” ” I hope that it helps.
Pros
