Design
Asus Zenfone 5 like its elder sibling Zenfone 6 has very good built quality and beautiful design. The phone has premium feel with its front protected by corning gorilla glass 3. It also features a metal strip at the front which adds to its elegance. The phone has 5 inch screen with a resolution of 1280x720p and a decent screen pixel density of 294. The screen quality is very good with good colour reproduction and accuracy.
Hardware
Asus Zenfone 5 has Intel® Atom™ Dual-Core Z2560 Processor clocked in at 1.6 GHz with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology as a result of which android recognizes it as a quad core processor. The phones performance is a result very smooth and it is also very responsive. The phone comes with 2GB RAM, a first in its price range, making multitasking fun and lag free. The phone comes with PowerVR SGX 544 MP2 GPU which is decent GPU and will play all casual to high end games though few high end games did show some frame drops and GTA:SA refused to run due to some compatibility issue. Overall the gameplay was good and smooth.
Camera and Other features
Asus Zenfone 5 comes with a 8 MP primary camera with Asus own PixelMaster technology for better low light imaging. We tested the claims and the results were not as impressive as Asus Zenfone 6 But yeah it gave decent enough shots both in low light and Daylight. The phone supports 1080p video recording and has a 2MP front camera for video calling (and Selfie of course). The phone supports USB OTG and has dual SIM support.
Software
Asus Zenfone 5 like Asus Zenfone 6 runs on Asus custom user interface ZenUI built over android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Asus have promised 4.4 KitKat update and is expected to be available in one or two weeks as we write. ZenUI is a very beautiful looking UI with lots of customization done to add various cool features and apps. Notification panel has similarities to iOS with the use of same beautiful round icons. The plus point of UI is while making your phone an admirable device it doesn’t eat into its performance and is incredibly light on system resources.
Why would you Love it?
Asus Zenfone 5 is very good and viable option at its current price tag and gives very good performance. It is a treat to use as it is very responsive and has beautiful ZenUI. The phone also possesses decent amount of style quotient due to its good looks.

I had a budget of Rs. 10 to 12k and i was planning to buy Moto G. But then i saw Zenfone 5 on Pricegrapple.com and i found this phone really nice. It had much more features as compared to Moto G 8gb model and Zen UI is really good. Camera takes nice shots and 2GB RAM along with intel processor runs the phone smoothly. I hope this performance sustains and i recommend this phone and if you have more budget go for 16gb model.

Well, this phone is absolute value for money. Right from its display and stylish looks to its lag-free performance it is simply unbeatable. However, it has lost out on speaker volume. It is too low. But when you put on your headphones it turns into a beast. It feels awesome. Battery should have been better for this mobile. In a nutshell, it is a good investment.
